This design was produced for a client hoping to increase living/kitchen space in their charming Yorkshire cottage. In opting for an extension over the garage and internal remodelling of the garage itself, we've enabled a low impact, cost effective and beautiful solution. The larch wood second storey extension creates a home office doubling up as a spare guest room when required. This suits the clients changing methods of working. Internally at ground floor, we opened up the garage to the kitchen and dining space to create a fluid, light and open family area. Above you'll see the elevation studies conducted throughout the project to develop and convey the design clearly. Using these drawings, we can discuss visual aspect of the design in a more tangible form.

Access to natural light was a key consideration throughout the project. Sunlight is a key source of well being. Windows offer a means to interact with the outside world.
